Twenty years ago, the discovery of an extrasolar planet orbiting around the star 51 Pegasi opened the doors of the astronomical field of exoplanets. First years of detections by radial velocity measurements suddenly were complemented (and overtaken) by massive ground-based and space-based campaigns using the transit method. Follow-up transit observations are daily planned with all-size telescopes around the words, including the Osservatorio dell'Antola. Other promising indirect and direct techniques, such as microlensing and coronagraphy, are also used to explore the parameter space. All these methods, and their combination, allow retrieving several orbital and physical parameters, and new techniques such as transmission spectroscopy are currently used for atmosphere characterization. "Hot Jupiters", "Ice Giants", "Chthonians", "Super Earths", "Exomoons"...  a new taxonomy is being created during these last years and months: it is the "comparative exoplanetology" era, and it just started! Let's have an overview and discuss together. 

Il Dott. Davide Ricci si e' laureato all'Universita' di Bologna, ha ottenuto il PhD all'Universita' di Liegi lavorando sul "lensing" gravitazionale per i quasars. Ha lavorato presso l'Osservatorio de Haute Provence, l'Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica di Bologna, e l'Istituto di Astronomia UNAM in Messico. Ha cominciato a lavorare sugli esopianeti con la collaborazione TAOS ed attualmente continua questa attivita' di ricerca presso l'Istituto di Astrofisica delle Canarie.
