Attività di ricerca

My research is carried out within the KM3NeT Collaboration, an underwater neutrino telescope comprising two detectors, ARCA and ORCA, designed to study cosmic neutrinos over a broad energy range, from a few MeV to hundreds
of PeV. Both detectors are taking data in partial configurations while construction is ongoing.

My PhD focuses on real-time neutrino astronomy and the development of the KM3NeT alert-sending system for multi-messenger observations. The system aims to identify promising cosmic-neutrino candidates in real time and distribute their directions and properties to enable rapid follow-up observations of transient astrophysical phenomena. I contribute to its end-to-end design, development, and deployment, including event selection, the definition of a model-independent False Alert Rate metric for alert ranking and selection, and a low-latency simulation pipeline for per-event sky localisation.

I have also worked on the search for lower-energy neutrino counterparts to KM3-230213A and on Monte Carlo studies of alternative geometries for the future KM3NeT/ARCA second building block, aimed at optimising sensitivity to very- and ultra-high-energy neutrinos.
