Statistical Field Theory

AdS/CFT: our main research activity concerns the application of the AdS/CFT correspondence to a few problems of condensed matter physics, which describe strongly correlated systems. This correspondence transforms a quantum problem at the critical point in a classical issue of gravity in an Anti de Sitter space, characterized by a negative cosmological constant. In particular, we study the thermodynamical properties, the electrical and thermal transport of non conventional superconductors.

Topological field theories with boundary: it is known that topological field theories do not have local degrees of freedom. This is no more true in presence of a boundary. Our aim is to study the dynamical properties of the excitations which live on the boundary. A classical example is given by the Chern Simons model, applied to the Quantum Hall effect.
