From July 29 to August 2 in Genoa, an exhibition that unveils the invisible
On July 29, 2024, the photographic exhibition "Beyond the Visible: LHC in Images" will open at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. This collection of photographic works by Enrico Sacchetti showcases the world's largest particle accelerator: the LHC, the Large Hadron Collider. The exhibition is organized by the Science is Cool Association in collaboration with Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare and Enrico Sacchetti, and will be open until August 2, 2024.
Thanks to the extraordinary shots by Enrico Sacchetti, an internationally award-winning photographer, visitors will immerse themselves in the heart of the LHC, the world's most powerful particle accelerator, located at CERN near Geneva, on the border between France and Switzerland. A 27 km ring where particles race almost at the speed of light to collide with energies close to those of the Big Bang, revealing clues about our universe. The works will unveil the complex world of subatomic particles and the fundamental forces that govern the universe. Sacchetti's shots translate abstract concepts into evocative images, capturing the essence of scientific research and making science accessible to a wider audience.
The exhibition "Beyond the Visible: LHC in Images" is organized on the occasion of the 16th edition of the BOOST International Workshop (BOOST 2024), which brings together leading experts in theory and experiments operating at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN and the RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider) at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Long Island.
