Neanderthal comet moving away from Earth as seen by OARPAF

The video shows a sequence of images of comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF), also known as the "Neanderthal comet," taken during the weekend

of Feb. 11, 2023, as the comet moves away from Earth.

The images were acquired with the SBIG Class 1 CCD mounted on the 80-cm telescope at the Antola Park Astronomical Observatory

(OARPAF) by researcher Davide Ricci of the National Institute of Astrophysics - Padua Observatory, who commanded remote observation and data acquisition thanks to recent hardware and software infrastructural changes that allow remote use of the facility.

DIFI has contributed to the purchase of new scientific instrumentation and the work on the remotization as part of the Departments of Excellence Project 2018-22
