We are proud to report how young talents of the Physics Department of Genoa distinguished themselves at the 106th National Congress of the Italian Physical Society, held from 14 to 18 September 2020.

The Scientific Committee has identified two outstanding communications:

  • "Thermometric calibration of the ultrafast relaxation dynamics in plasmonic Au nanoparticles" by Dr. Marzia Ferrera (PhD student), second best communication in Section 2: Solid State Physics;
  • "The Darkside-20k veto detector" by Dr. Matteo Rossi (Master student), mentioned for Section 3: Astrophysics.

Furthermore, there are numerous communications awarded with the publication on Il Nuovo Cimento:

  • "Study of central exclusive production of top quark-antiquark pairs at LHC" by Dr. Matteo Pisano (Master student);
  • "Calibrazione in flusso per lo spettrografo a infrarossi dell'esperimento Euclid", by Dr. Ilaria Risso (Master student);
  • "Characterizing the spectral energy distribution of blazars neutrino candidates", by Dr. Ilaria Viale (Master student);
  • "Caratterizzazione di moduli con sensori 3D e readout RD53A per ATLAS ITk Pixel" by Dr. Leonardo Vannoli (PhD student);
  • "Niobium and titanium surface modification via anodic oxidation in Ca/P containing solutions for osteogenesis", by Dr. Paolo Canepa (post-doc).
