Seminario di gruppo II INFN

SuperNEMO is under developement in the laboratoire souterrain de Modane, in the Fréjus tunnel. Sheltered against the cosmic rays by 4800 MWE of rock, it’s dedicated to the research of double beta decay without neutrino emission using a tracker-calorimeter technology.
This decay is expected to be extremely rare, thus, after a description of the detector, this seminary will be focused on the most important background noise: the radon. It will describe recent studies by the Centre de Physique des particules de Marseille group on the radon diffusion simulation and measurements, and will present the results on the correlation between radon emanation and ethanol/humidity composition of the detector gas.
